Hollywood Tow Yard
A new creative campus
The Tow Yard re-imagines an under-utilized urban infill site as a new mixed-use campus for creative industries, retailers, and restaurants.
Hollywood and Vine is fast becoming a hot spot for creative industries, new eateries, and pedestrian friendly urbanism. We see the potential in this under-utilized lot to create a new destination for creative commerce and communities.
This is an unusual L-shaped site which invites one long, low building at the rear to deal with parking and ancillary spaces, and one elevated block at right angles, offering high-value workspace and far-reaching views over the city.
A cascading arrangement of creative office suites sits in, under and on top of both blocks, providing multiple terraces and outdoor workspaces that make the most of the Californian climate.
A new plaza is created in front of the low building, activated by the co-working spaces, restaurants, and retail. A community-wide amenity in the heart of this Hollywood neighborhood.
