Cambridge Children’s Hospital was recognised in the Future Healthcare Design category for pioneering a ‘whole new way’ of healthcare for children.
Cambridge Children’s Hospital will be East of England’s first dedicated, purpose-built children’s hospital, providing holistic care for children and young people from birth to 19 years of age.
Attending the European Healthcare Design 2022 congress alongside White Arkitekter, we presented Cambridge Children’s Hospital across several different channels.
Designing for Children
Negar Mihanyar (Associate Director, Education & Research Sector Lead) and Jens Axelsson (Architect, White Arkitekter) presented in the ‘Designing For Children’ session, showcasing how Cambridge Children’s Hospital pioneers a new model of integrated healthcare and research which provides holistic mental and physical care for children and young people.
Integrating art into design
Negar Mihanyar and Natalie Ellis of Cambridge University Hospital (CUH) Arts presented a poster and video submission exploring how integrating art into the earliest stages of hospital design creates a welcoming, joyful and enchanting environment.
Sustainability and carbon reduction in healthcare
Ewan Graham (Partner, Healthcare Sector Lead), Rhys Lupton (Architect, White Arkitekter) and Iain Mitchell-Jones (Director, Ramboll) presented a poster and video exploring how integration, innovation and improvements in the design process can deliver carbon reduction in healthcare.
